On behalf of the volunteers and representatives of NCWL I am proud to say that we did very well for our first charity event.
We had people donate food and paws. You may purchase a paw for $5, $10, $20 or another amount of your choice and it goes directly into our Veterinary Fund. We raised a little under $500 dollars and that means we can help a couple more felines in need! We thank everyone who attended and hope to see you guys at another event again in the near future.

First of all I would like to announce that all our pet cat's have over come URV and are now just sneezing which they will do after treatment.
Second of all we had 3 cat's brought to us yesterday that were strays. While leaving our Vet's office today we were informed that they were all infested with fleas, had earmites and URV. We are upset that the virus is back because we were sure we had just got rid of it. Tonight we will be starting the three pretty ladies that were given to us on treatment. Pictures will be available soon. Updates to follow. On behalf of NCWL and the well-being of all the cat's out there, please, we beg of you to take care of your cat's and keep them indoors! We hope that every cat owner out there is aware of this deadly virus and hope they take caution when taking in strays and allowing your pet cat's outside. Although your feline friend(s) may be defleaded that does NOT mean they cannot get fleas again or later after being treated. Fleas can be transported from cat's in the neighbourhood or through the owner's clothes especially if they are elderly or very small children. If you notice itching, scabbing, runny discharge from their eyes/mouth or anything wrong with your cat's health PLEASE take them to the vet immediately and see what is going on with him or her. We hope that no more cat's go through this virus, the itchyness of fleas or the crawling mites in their ears! Take care of your cat's people and treat them as family. Best of luck to all the furry felines out there and their owners!! NCWL had 3 strays brought to us today. The woman who brought them to us has many other strays living around her home. Tomorrow we will be bringing these cat's the the vets.
All 3 strays are grey and white. At this time we are unsure who is male or female. Pictures & updates to follow. We are thrilled to say we are now a member of Adopt-a-Pet.com.
You can find our Adoptable Felines here on our website or on www.adoptapet.com Just a couple days away.. NCWL will be hosting a BBQ & Garage Sale in honour of Paws Awhile Country Inn for Cats Inc. Grand Opening and to raise money for Neveah's Charity.
All items that are purchased will be put into NCWL veterinary fund to help felines in need! It will be held on Saturday April 28th 2012 from 8:00am until 4:00pm at Paws Awhile Country Inn for Cats Inc. location. Please refer to the website: www.countryinnforcats.weebly.com for the address and directions. Everyone is Welcome! We will be accepting donations at the event as well. Donations may include anything from our wish list. These items include; beds, blankets, towels, food (hard/soft), treats, carriers, dog crates, toys, litter boxes, litter, high efficiency liquid detergent, bleach, hand sanitizer, plastic bags, liquid dish soap, gift cards for Gas stations, Walmart/Zellers, Canadian Tire money and straw for strays. NCWL is also collecting empy beer, liquor and wine bottles. Rolled or not, NCWL has also started collecting all those unwanted pennies! Representatives of NCWL hope to see you there! Patunia is doing great!!!! She has started playing again and is allowing myself to pat her more than she used too. Patunia is still a little nervous but I am sure within time she will be perfectly fine.
Our first 3 cats are still a little bit sneezy and now our other 4 cats have the URV. We hope they can overcome to virus before it gets the best of them! Updates to follow. NCWL is in desperate need of blankets and cat food!!!!!
If you have any old, used, stained towels that you are getting rid of please contact us and donate them, we go through towels like crazy! Also, if you have a cat that doesn't like a type of food you bought them, DON'T throw it away! NCWL can use it to feed all our kitties who come into our care. At the moment we are very low on canned food and would appreciate anybody to donate some. Please if you are getting rid of some old towels, sheets, blankets, soft food, hard food or anything else that NCWL can benefit from please, please Contact Us to arrange for it to be picked up or dropped off. With your help we can help save more felines lives!!!! We are so very happy to announce that Patunia has finally started eating again! Having Patunia be semi-feral she would not allow us to medicate her and she had to fight off the virus herself. We were scared at moments but she has pulled through it and we think she will be ok!
On another note: our 3 cats who got URV will be finishing their meds tomorrow. They are still sneezing and coughing but we think 2 of the 3 will pull through. Neveah, our dearest Neveah is very ill and needs to go to the Vets tomorrow. We hope everything is ok with her. Updates to follow. NCWL is asking you to keep an eye on your furry feline friends! If you notice anything unusual (behaviour changes, lack of interest in food and water, runny discharge from the eyes and nose, coughing or sneezing) please contact your Veterinarian immediately as for your kitty(s) could have URV or another health condition! Wishing all the best to the kitties out there! Cheska delivered 5 beautiful babies tonight; 3 black with white, 1 brown tabby & 1 solid black one. We are not sure about the sexes but we will keep an update on the youngsters. We hope they are all healthy and can be ready to find their forever homes by the end of June - Cheska will also be available to adopt. If you would like to put a hold on any 1 of the 6 kitties in this family, please feel free to Contact Us to see how that works.
We are thrilled to say that Pisces & Cheska have completed their meds!
Pisces still has a sneeze but we are sure she can go up for adoption within the next week. Along with Pisces, Bennet has a couple more days of meds and he will be well on his way to finding his forever home. Cheska has fully recovered and has not delivered her babies yet. We hope Cheska will deliver in the next week or so. Updates to follow. We will be posting pictures of Pisces & Bennet in the next couple of days. More information on these two furry felines will come along with their pictures. |
