We are proud to say that Pisces and Cheska have completed there meds and they are well on there way to recovering. Bennet is also doing well, he still has some treatments to go. We are sad to say that Patunia our semi-feral is now sick. Details to follow. In addition, 3 of our 7 pet cat's now have the virus. We plan on starting treatment as soon as possible.
If you have a feline friend, please know that this virus can be deadly. It spreads so fast and can take over them in a matter of days. If you notice any sneezing, discharge from the eyes/nose or mouth please please contact your veterinary immediately. We hope all is well with the kitties out there! We are so very happy to say that the ladies are eating on their own. Bennet will only eat off Lori's (my mom's) finger but he is drinking by himself. Pisces is drinking as well. They have meds until Saturday so we are hoping that they will come together and fight off the virus so Bennet and Pisces can go up for adoption and find their forever homes. Cheska on the other hand, we hope that she can over come the URI for the sake of her babies and her own health. Updates to follow.
We are currently looking for Foster Parents! We will need a couple for the end of May who are willing to open their homes and hearts to very special kitties. If you are interested please Contact Us immediately to fill out a Foster Parent Application Form. We have between 6 - 8 cats that need to be rescued. Their owner can no longer care for them as for she is going in for surgery. We have URI going around on the one side of our facility so we cannot take in any more cats until the current cats we have are feeling better. Please help us, because now it's up to you!!!
Pisces was emmited to our vets office on Friday to have IV fluid therapy done because she was super dehydrated and very weak.
NCWL felt that Cheska should have IV fluid therapy done as well. Saturday morning both Pisces and Cheska were transfered to the emergency clinic and stayed until this morning. Both tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. This morning we transfered Pisces and Cheska from the emergency clinic back to our vet hospital to continue treatment. Bennet is no longer available for adoption. He had to start meds for URI (upper respiratory infection). We are going to be monitoring him over the next few days/week and we hope that he can turn it around before it gets the best of him like it did to the girls. Updates to follow. |
