Mario was rescued on June 23rd 2012 from Animal Control. Mario was surrendered by a woman who apparently "saved" him from being drowned by his previous owner. He came to us half shaved and we are unsure why but according to the woman who surrendered him he was very matted. We are unsure of the tale that came along with our Mario but we do know he requires a lot of attention because he is very shy and skittery. We are currently working with Mario and hope to place him in his forever home someday soon. For more details on Mario please look into him on Adopt a Pet.com. MARIO HAS SINCE BEEN ADOPTED AND HAS MOVED TO ST. GEORGE, ONTARIO

The pregnant female we rescued from Animal Control on June 20, 2012 had a severe case of URV. She ended up giving birth to 3 kittens (2 stillborn, 1 alive) before she finished her medication. We have called her Scarlette. Scarlette had to make a vet trip with her new kitten on June 24/12. She was given an antibiotic shot at the vet's. We had to handfeed the kitten every 2 hours. The kitten however did not make it due to URV and passed away 5 days later. Scarlette though is doing really well, has put on weight and is ready for her new home. We are proud to say that we have rescued 19 cats from Animal Control today.
We rescued the following: Mom + 5 babies (Group) - ALL AVAILABLE Mom + 2 babies (Group) - ALL AVAILABLE 1 Single Kitten - HENRY - AVAILABLE 4 Kittens (Group) - ALL AVAILABLE We are confident that the above list will not get the Upper Respiratory Virus but they are being quarantined seperate from the list below and our other rescues for the health and well being of all our cats currently at our facility. 1 Pregnant Female - SCARLETTE - AVAILABLE 2 Kittens (Group) - WHIPPER & SNIPPER - AVAILABLE 2 Kittens (Group) - PEPPER - AVAILABLE / SALT - ADOPTED The above list is currently being quarantined away from the other list and our other rescues as for they have been sneezing/coughing etc. and may have URV (Upper Respiratory Virus). Pictures & Updates to follow. NCWL discovered 2 abandoned rabbits up the road from the shelter. They were left on the side of the road with a bag of un opened carrots and a head of brocolli. The people who dumped them off figured the 2 rabbits could survive out here alone. We tried contacting a small animal rescue but they cannot take them as for they are already full. We decided as a team and rescue that we would keep them at our rescue and hopefully adopt them out. We have named them Soot (Left) & Speckles (Right). At this time they are adjusting to their new surroundings. Updates to follow. Prior to going to their forever homes they will be vet checked and steralized.
Tiglet has found her forever home with Valentina and her family in Etobicoke with her two pals Charlie & Simba. To read about Tiglet's Story check out our Success Stories Page.
Lady was brought to us on June 3rd 2012. She came from a neighbour up the road from the facility. The woman who found her thinks that someone had dumped her off. Lady is about 12 weeks of age and is currently bunking with Sir X, Joy & Zodiac. Lady has been vaccinated and is available for adoption. The adoption fee is $185.00. For more information on adopting with us please visit our Adopting with NCWL page here.
